Croucher Science Week is back this year with an exciting line-up of programmes for schools and the public from 7 to 25 April 2025. The free festival will feature live events, workshops and school tours with presenting teams from six international science education organisations.
The highly-anticipated Croucher Science Week is back in 2025 to engage Hong Kong youth of all ages through a diverse range of interactive workshops, live events, and hands-on demonstrations. Following the success of the 2024 edition, which saw participation from over 25,000 children and parents, for the first time this year’s festival will span across two weekends with more workshops and shows. The festival will run from 7-25 April, with key public events hosted at the renowned Hong Kong Science Museum and will be part of the HK SciFest 2025, providing a dynamic platform for exploration and discovery.
This year, the festival will feature 14 programmes, showcased through 57 live events including theatre shows, drop-in activities, workshops, and watch-anytime videos. The festival will also take the excitement to schools across Hong Kong for special performances as part of the school tour. All performances and sessions will be presented by teams from leading science education organisations from the UK, Germany and Australia, including Deutsches Museum and Thunderbolts & Lightning, who will participate in the festival for the first time.
Expanded programme with new highlights
Be enthralled with theatre shows that leave lasting impressions Be ready to be amazed by the grandiose and impact of the theatre show line up at Croucher Science Week 2025. Like a thriller or mystery novel, these shows use science as a storytelling medium in which things are explained and riddles are solved.
Explore the world of science with fun family activities The programme will include STEM exploration through fun and skill-building activities for the whole family to participate in. Through engaging hands-on sessions, families will have the opportunity to learn together, explore new concepts, and develop a deeper appreciation for the world of science and technology.
Keep young minds engaged by taking science home In addition to strengthening classroom instruction and deepening comprehension, Croucher Science Week’s captivating activities aim to inspire children to bring science home while fostering critical thinking and independent problem-solving.
In addition to the public activities, from 7-11 April, Croucher Science Week 2025 will go on tour in local primary and secondary schools around Hong Kong, to present Music to your ears by David Price from Science Made Simple. A show about the science needed to experience music, students will get a chance to create their own musical spectacular on stage through this show.
Croucher Science Week 2025’s varied programming aims to make science accessible and exciting for all ages by bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and daily experiences. A partnership between the Croucher Foundation, the Education Bureau, and the Hong Kong Science Museum, the festival also celebrates the achievements and advancements in science and technology, showcasing the wonders of discovery and innovation.
