When I founded the consultancy in 2009, the public relations (PR) industry was still largely focused on traditional media relations. My vision was to offer what we then called ‘integrated PR’ that would help brands navigate the rapidly evolving social media landscape. Our services mostly included strategy building, media engagement, social media content and stakeholder relations. Over the next decade, the PR industry underwent a significant change, evolving into what many now call ‘integrated marketing communications’ (IMC). I won’t get into the debate over what to call ourselves here, except to say that today I see PR as my superpower and IMC solutions as the services we offer.

Throughout this period of transformation, the core of our work has remained the same: earning the story and building reputation. While the tools, channels and media landscape have changed dramatically, the fundamental talent of our industry – storytelling – has endured. ‘The idea’ or ‘the story’ is at the heart of all successful communications campaigns and programmes, and it comes from understanding data, audiences and the market to identify insights. These insights, along with creative thinking and industry knowledge, allow PR professionals to earn audience attention and engagement and, most importantly, create real impact. Our work builds value, inspires action, changes opinions, and grows reputation.

Today, Sinclair offers full integrated marketing communications solutions, including brand consultancy, corporate reputation, creative design, digital strategy, social media management, event marketing, executive positioning, influencer marketing, stakeholder relations, employee branding, ESG communications, and issues and crisis management. We are often appointed to create and implement integrated programmes that comprise a combination of these services.

We take pride in our sector diversity, having started as a ‘lifestyle’ consultancy before quickly expanding into the consumer and corporate realms. Why did we do this? Because our clients asked us to! We are now an award-winning consultancy for both B2C and B2B communications. It’s been an honour to work with some of the best brands in the region and around the world.

As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, I’m happy to say that Sinclair remains an independent consultancy. It was a struggle for a while there (for obvious reasons), but the continued trust and support of our clients has allowed us to come out the other side stronger than ever.

At the heart of our success – and what I’m most proud of – is our team. The individuals that work with us today and those who came before them. My vision for a consultancy was to create a place that I wanted to work; where kindness, respect and professionalism go hand-in-hand. A place where we champion each other to be the best we can be. In doing so, we’ve attracted the best talent in the industry (if I do say so myself). Watching colleagues grow their skills and leadership capabilities while with Sinclair, but also in their new roles after they have moved on, gives me so much joy. I would like to thank all my colleagues, past and present, for helping to grow the business into what it is today.

Looking ahead, our new tagline, “Where storytelling meets impact,” encapsulates the essence of our work. We are more than just communicators – we are strategic partners who use the power of storytelling to drive real, measurable impact for our clients.
